Rudall Rose 1696

Rudall & Rose, No.15, Piazza, Covent Garden, London, #1696. Cocus wood with highly-domed silver keys and rings, double springs. The body joints are in excellent condition, the two finger joints are both stamped Rudall & Rose, whilst the foot joint is an old replacement specially made for the instrument by Rudall, Rose, Carte & Co. (1852-71, whose stamp it bears) using the keywork from the original one.
